A knight’s tale

On January 22nd 2008, a very shocking event took place. The very popular actor, Heath Ledger, was found dead on his New York apartment in SoHo. I read about it a couple of days later and was rather shocked. He was a very young man and there was a mystery around his death. A few weeks later, it was found that his death was caused due to accidental overdose of prescribed medication (my source is IMDB). He was an actor i really admired and never took the chance to take a look at his bio. After a whole year, i feel like writing this small post on his memory since i liked him alot. The info below are actually a small sum of what i found on the net (especially IMDb) on him.

Stuck with “Doctor Who”!

OMG Doctor who season 5 will come in 2010 . THere will be 4 special episodes in 2009. Thats a very long wait

“Doctor Who” is a remake of a very old series. I haven’t seen the old one but this one is a BBC production so this alone makes it worth a look.

When i read those i was like “wow i haven’t heard about it and he sounds excited so it must be good”. So, i got my hands to a couple of epeisodes and that was that. I got stuck! Normaly, those kind of shows really are not my type. Actually those “too obvious” alien shows are quite repulsive to me. But, this one combines some nice things that actually make it very pleasant to watch.

Humor is one thing. Some times it gets a bit “English” but in general it’s clever and whitty. The other thing i like is the “adventurous” spirit. It goes back and forth through time with many kinds of stuff going on. It really keeps you on the edge. All in all it’s a pleasant show that i really didn’t think it would keep me watching. I recommend that you check it out. I don’t know if you will like it, but, if you do, you’ll get stuck!

Breach

The past few days, i’ve been reading about this movie called “Breach“, released on 2007. The movie is about a true story. The biggest breach on espionage and security on the FBI. It is a very nice movie, that keeps the suspense until the last minutes. A few goofs here and there (a 612 bit encryption key was mentioned which they obviously thought is better than the 512 ) but in general a very good movie. Thumbs up!

Life as a house

Well i am considered to be a movie fan and i recently saw this one. I like movies that have a life meaning and i am surprised i missed this one. This is a 2001 movie that shows that hard life problems are nothing when death comes knocking at your door. A realy touching movie that i enjoyed watching. It was 2hrs and as time was passing by i was touched more and more. Here is the plot synopsis from IMDB:

When a man is diagnosed with terminal cancer, he takes custody of his misanthropic teenage son, for whom quality time means getting high, engaging in small-time prostitution, and avoiding his father.

What i want to say is that if you haven’t seen this movie then i definitely suggest you get your hands on it. Have fun!
