Just a quickie here. I installed rtorrent on my local network on a Debian machine. I would enter a torrent, it would start downloading fine but it wouldn’t upload! Port forwarding on the router is not enough. To be exact it is enough but the port protocol should be UDP instead of TCP. That’s the trick! Hope it saves you some searching 😉
