well it is the color that absorbs the less sunlight and therefore heat. in the summer, the heat in those islands can reach 35-40 degrees Celsius. Moreover the color combination has become a tradition to all Greek islands.

Well “Panagia” is Virgin Mary. Chrisopigi is the place. “Panagia Crhisopigi” is the place there (the rock mostly) where the temple is built. There is a wonderfull story behind this Church i might post it some time. In all the islands in Greece the houses are painted white with deep blue windows/doors. It is very nice indeed.
